Abstract There may be a connection between glaucoma and cerebrovascular disease (CVD) due to the similarities between the two diseases’ pathophysiologies. We utilised a scoring system based on four factors—current smoking, obesity, regular physical activity, and a healthy diet—to analyse the associations between glaucoma and incident CVD in the prospective UK Biobank cohort, and to determine the extent to which a healthy lifestyle reduced the CVD risk in subjects with glaucoma.
